Heather Mewton is a San Francisco based visual artist with a gravitation towards film, fashion, and installation. Their work explores connections between identity performance and emotion, often revolving around the feelings of discomfort and anxiety that arise due to social conformance.
They find beauty and ugliness an interesting line to play between and like to take on work that involves transforming themself and others into beings that don’t necessarily fit into either of these categories. Currently, they are looking to explore the connection between loneliness, obsession, and the struggle to reconcile one’s multiple identities in a digital age.
